about

I’m proud to have recorded these tracks with such great musicians including special guest, Luciano Troja, who joined us from Sicily. These compositions of mine represent what I call ‘my standards.’ A type of writing in the style of the American Songbook which has given us many of our Jazz standards.
The song titles convey the philosophy behind each work.
Atone Poem could be thought of as being “At-one” or “Atonement”. Don’t Wait too long encourages us to do whatever is in your heart to do. Miles to Go has to do with how far society has to evolve in order to treat everyone as equals; and for us to go beyond ourselves to help and care for each other.
I had a friend with a passion for motorcycles and racing them. One day, after having a long conversation about racing motorcycles and musical improvisation, we discovered that the thought processes and all that goes into these two seemingly divergent activities are one and the same. I shortened Cycle-ology to Cy-cology. Indigo Joe is about someone I knew. Indigo is the color of wisdom and intuition and Joe is the name of a former student. Both represent the future.
Solstice of Solace represents a calmness, a peace, a feeling of acceptance that we all seek.
There’s Always More reminds us that there are always new beginnings if we are open to them.
Hope you enjoy!
